2024 Medicare Reimbursements

All retirees and spouses who currently receive a reimbursement of Medicare premiums from the City should review this information.  The 2024 standard amount for Medicare Part B is $174.70 per month. Some retirees might be eligible to have the reimbursement increased as the cost of the Medicare premium is increased.  However, to have the reimbursement increased, you must inform the City’s Employee Benefits office of the annual increase in your monthly Medicare payments. You will need to provide a copy of the notice from Medicare which shows your standard Medicare Part B amount.

If you have not received an increase in your Medicare reimbursement amount in prior years, you can also submit 1099 forms for each year from 2016 through 2023 to request a retroactive payment for the reimbursements owed to you.  If you do not have your 1099 form, you can contact the Social Security Office to request one.

Each covered member, retiree, and spouse should submit a separate request due to possible different payment amounts.  Please send this information to Sheila Keady Rawson at benefits@cambridgema.gov
