Counting of ballots for the election to a seat on the Cambridge Retirement Board was conducted in the meeting room at City Hall Annex.  The results were as follows:

John Shinkwin     954 votes

Karen Preval       383 votes

As a result of the election, John Shinkwin is elected to a 3-year term on the Cambridge Retirement Board, starting August 1, 2014.

Ballots for the election for a seat on the Cambridge Retirement Board were mailed on Thursday, June 12.  Ballots must be returned to the Cambridge Election Commission by 3:00 PM on Monday, July 21 to be counted.  Please contact the Retirement Office if you have any questions, or if you do not receive your ballot within one week.

The Retirement Board's long-serving Retiree Coordinator, Joan F. Kelley, retired as of September 28th.  Joan has worked for the City of Cambridge for thirty-nine years and four months, she has held several positions at the Retirement Board since 1993. Most recently, Joan has made sure that over 1900 retirees and beneficiaries receive their monthly allowances. Joan knows most the retirees and has provided our membership with outstanding service and as so many of you know firsthand, she goes above and beyond to help everyone she touches.
